To provide the public with the latest geographic information for emergencies via mobile phone, the Cartography and Cadastre Bureau has launched an updated version 3.4 of the “GeoGuide for emergency” mobile map app. This version is based on information provided by relevant departments in 2023.

“GeoGuide for emergency” provides the latest and most important emergency information. The major updates of this version include the areas that may be affected by different “Storm Surge” warning levels, information on zones that may be affected by power suspension measures during different “Storm Surge” warning levels, temporary garbage collection points (set up only during emergency response to disasters), and the pamphlet “Civil Protection Knowledge” (Chinese version).

Using the “GeoGuide for emergency” app, citizens can access emergency geographic information and emergency walking route planning functions to plan walking routes in advance for disaster prevention and risk reduction. Additionally, the application can receive real-time severe weather warning information, real-time water level monitoring information, and real-time maritime information in emergency situations when the internet connection is enabled, in response to public needs.

“GeoGuide for emergency” version 3.4 provides maps for emergencies in both online and offline versions. The app can be downloaded for free by searching for “GeoGuide for emergency” in the App Store or Google Play, or by scanning the QR code below.
