Administrative Region Map of the Macao SAR of the People's Republic of China - Land - Introduction to the Land Boundary of the Macao SAR
The new Map of the Administrative Division of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China was approved to come into force on December 20, 2015 in the 116th Executive Meeting of the State Council held on December 16, 2015, according to the Decree No. 665 of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, which was published together with the Map through The Chief Executive Notice No. 128/2015. The land boundary of the Macao SAR was adjusted, and the management scope of water area was clarified. After the adjustment of the administrative region, the administrative boundary of the Macao SAR included both land and maritime boundaries. It will provide strong support for Macao SAR to maintain its prosperity and stability and achieve sustainable economic and social development.
The Central People's Government decided, as indicated on the Map, to give the Macao SAR the jurisdiction right over the region around Macao’s border inspection building at Border Gate, located on the boundary of the Macao SAR and Zhuhai, Guangdong. It is the section from the north of Border Gate of the Macao SAR to the original flagship building of the Zhuhai border checkpoint that is used for building the supporting facilities of a new border inspection building for the Macao SAR.
After the adjustment of the administrative region of the Macao SAR, the land boundary is divided into two sections: the Macao Border Inspection Building Section at the Border Gate and the Canal Dos Patos Section:
The boundary for the section of border inspection building at Border Gate refers to the northern perimeter of the building area.
The boundary for the section of Canal Dos Patos refers to the line from the intersection of the western part of the border inspection building area at Border Gate and the bank of Canal Dos Patos on Macao side, through the Canal Dos Patos to the intersection of the southwestern part of the Zhuhai immigration and customs hall area at the new Guangdong-Macao passageway (Qingmao Port of Entry), which is under construction, and the bank of Canal Dos Patos in Macao as well as to the centerline of the waterway at the other parts of the Canal Dos Patos.
